Dry Compactor
Dry compactors, also called stationary compactors, compress dry solid waste directly into detachable roll-off containers. The compactor unit remains mounted at the loading dock or waste collection point while full containers are swapped out by the hauling service. This design is used for dry waste streams that do not produce liquid leachate.
Compaction Process
Waste is loaded through the top charge box opening, which typically measures 40" x 60" to 46" x 60" for easy loading from dock height or ground level. The hydraulic ram compresses loaded material through the discharge opening into the attached roll-off container. Multiple compression cycles pack the container to maximum density before it requires pickup, significantly reducing the number of hauls needed.
Force and Capacity
Compaction forces range from 50,000 to 62,000+ lbs, driven by standard 10 HP motors through hydraulic systems. The ram face (typically 30" x 60") distributes force evenly across the material being compressed. Higher force ratings produce greater material density in the container, which means fewer hauls and lower waste removal costs. Rated capacities start at 2 cubic yards for the compactor chamber itself, with total capacity determined by the size of the attached roll-off container.
Installation
Stationary compactors are bolted to a concrete pad at dock height or ground level. The roll-off container connects to the discharge end of the compactor and is removed by the hauling truck when full. A new empty container is positioned in its place. The compactor unit remains in position permanently, requiring only the container to be serviced.

Vertical Downstroke Baler
Vertical downstroke balers compress recyclable materials into dense, manageable bales for efficient storage and transport. Available with compaction forces from 56,000 to 67,000+ lbs, 10 HP motors, and chamber widths from 30" to 72", these balers produce bales weighing up to 1,100 lbs from OCC, plastics, textiles, and other recyclables.
Wet Compactor
Wet compactors (self-contained compactors) compress liquid-producing waste into an integrated container with built-in liquid sump reservoirs from 750 to 1,050 gallons. With compaction forces from 45,000 to 55,000+ lbs and 10 HP motors, these units prevent leachate runoff while compacting food waste, wet refuse, and other liquid-generating materials.
