Poly Sheets

Poly Sheets

Poly sheets are flat, pre-cut polyethylene film used as interleaving layers, surface protection, dust covers, and wrapping material. Manufactured from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in thicknesses from 1 to 10 mil. Available in standard sheet sizes as well as continuous rolls for high-volume applications. Common uses include pallet layer separation, surface protection during construction and renovation, and product wrapping where bags are not practical due to item size or shape.

Material and Construction

Poly sheets are manufactured from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) resin, producing a flexible, moisture-resistant, chemically inert film. The material is available in clear, black, white, and translucent options. Clear sheets allow visual identification of covered items, while black and opaque sheets provide UV protection and concealment. All standard poly sheet material is waterproof and resistant to most common chemicals, solvents, and cleaning agents.

Thickness Selection

  • 1 mil is a lightweight sheet suited for temporary dust covers, interleaving between stacked parts, and disposable surface protection.
  • 2 mil provides standard-duty protection for wrapping, interleaving, and light surface coverage.
  • 4 mil is a construction-grade thickness used for vapor barriers, drop cloths, and moderate-duty surface protection with good tear resistance.
  • 6 mil is a heavy-duty option for construction moisture barriers, agricultural covers, and applications requiring extended durability.
  • 8-10 mil are extra-heavy thicknesses used for crawl space encapsulation, equipment covers, and long-term outdoor exposure where maximum puncture and tear resistance is required.

Sheet Formats

Poly sheets are available as individual pre-cut sheets in standard dimensions or as continuous rolls that can be cut to length on-site. Roll formats are more economical for high-volume applications. Pre-cut sheets are convenient for standardized interleaving, wrapping, and covering tasks where consistent sheet size is needed.

Temperature and Weather Resistance

LDPE poly sheet maintains flexibility and performance across a temperature range of approximately -60F to 150F. Standard clear and natural LDPE is not UV-stabilized and will degrade with prolonged sunlight exposure. Black poly sheet offers limited UV resistance for outdoor applications up to approximately 90 days. UV-stabilized formulations are available for extended outdoor use.

Anti-Static Poly Bags

Anti-static poly bags designed to prevent static charge buildup and protect ESD-sensitive electronic components during storage and shipping. Manufactured from polyethylene film treated with anti-static additives that dissipate surface charges. Available in flat open-end and reclosable configurations across standard mil thicknesses. Pink-tinted anti-static bags provide visual identification of ESD-safe packaging, while clear anti-static bags maintain product visibility.

Bag in box inserters designed for efficient packaging of liquids and granular products.

Bag in Box Inserters

Bag-in-box inserters automatically open and insert pre-formed poly bags or liners into erected corrugated cases at rates up to 25 insertions per minute. Available in semi-automatic and fully automatic configurations, these machines handle gusseted bags, flat bags, and custom liners with adjustable box size settings.

Horizontal Form Fill and Seal machine for efficient packaging solutions.

Horizontal Form Fill and Seal

Horizontal form fill and seal machines wrap products in a continuous film web at speeds up to 200+ packages per minute. These flow wrappers form a tube of film around each product, create a longitudinal fin or lap seal, and cross-seal both ends for a fully enclosed package in continuous motion.

Poly Bags

Flat and reclosable poly bags manufactured from virgin low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) film. Available in mil thicknesses from 1 to 8 mil across hundreds of standard sizes, from small 2x3-inch parts bags to large 30x36-inch industrial bags. Closure options include open-end flat bags, single-track reclosable zipper bags, and heat-sealable configurations. All standard poly bags meet FDA and USDA requirements for food contact applications.

Poly Tubing

Poly tubing is continuous LDPE film supplied in lay-flat rolls, designed to be cut to any length and heat sealed to create custom-sized bags on demand. Available in 2, 3, 4, and 6 mil thicknesses with lay-flat widths from 3 to 60 inches. Poly tubing eliminates the need to stock multiple bag sizes by allowing operators to create bags sized exactly to the product being packaged. All standard tubing meets FDA and USDA specifications and is compatible with impulse and constant-heat sealers.
