Pre-Made Bag Filling Machines

Pre-Made Bag Filling Machines

Pre-made bag filling machines take pre-formed bags from a magazine or bag-on-roll, open them, fill with product, and seal at speeds up to 60 bags per minute. Available in rotary and inline configurations, these systems handle stand-up pouches, flat bags, gusseted bags, and zipper bags with multiple filling methods.

Pre-made bag filling machines automate the process of filling and sealing bags that have already been formed and supplied in stacks or on rolls. Unlike form-fill-seal machines that create bags from roll stock, these systems work with pre-formed bags including stand-up pouches, flat bags, gusseted bags, and zipper reclosure bags.

Filling Process

The machine picks a bag from the magazine or unwinds from a bag-on-roll supply, opens the bag mouth using vacuum cups or mechanical grippers, fills the bag with product through the open top, and seals the bag closed. Rotary configurations move bags through multiple stations around a central turret, while inline configurations process bags in a straight-line sequence.

Rotary vs. Inline

Rotary machines position bags around a central carousel with dedicated stations for bag pickup, opening, filling, settling, and sealing. This design achieves higher speeds by performing multiple operations simultaneously on different bags. Inline configurations process bags sequentially along a straight conveyor, offering simpler operation and easier access for changeover and maintenance.

Filling Methods

The filling system is selected based on product characteristics. Volumetric fillers meter consistent product volumes for free-flowing granular materials. Auger fillers handle powders and fine-grained products. Net weigh fillers provide the highest accuracy by weighing each fill. Liquid pump fillers dispense liquids and viscous products through nozzles positioned inside the bag opening.

Poly Sheets

Poly sheets are flat, pre-cut polyethylene film used as interleaving layers, surface protection, dust covers, and wrapping material. Manufactured from low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in thicknesses from 1 to 10 mil. Available in standard sheet sizes as well as continuous rolls for high-volume applications. Common uses include pallet layer separation, surface protection during construction and renovation, and product wrapping where bags are not practical due to item size or shape.

Poly Tubing

Poly tubing is continuous LDPE film supplied in lay-flat rolls, designed to be cut to any length and heat sealed to create custom-sized bags on demand. Available in 2, 3, 4, and 6 mil thicknesses with lay-flat widths from 3 to 60 inches. Poly tubing eliminates the need to stock multiple bag sizes by allowing operators to create bags sized exactly to the product being packaged. All standard tubing meets FDA and USDA specifications and is compatible with impulse and constant-heat sealers.
